Wheel Info for Audi A4
I'll be purchasing an Audi A4 (not sure of the engine size yet 1.8 or what) sometime this year. I'll be ordering the UK version as I am a lover of RHD cars. My question is what are the biggest wheels that the Audi A4 can take. I currenlty own a 1997 JDM Supra TT with 19x8.5Fr and 19x10R. I searched and only can up with two threads regarding wheel size netiher gave me a definate answer. So I'm asking for people with atleast 18" wheels. I know that the audi A4 is AWD but I would like a wider tire/rim in the rear. Maybe a 265?? Let me know what you guys have. The wheels I'm thinking of are 5 spoke gloss black with a polished lip.
Here are a few pics of my current ride

that is a pretty awsome looking supra BTW but for the Audi on a B5 model the biggest you will want to go with would be a 18" without looking stupid as for the tire size I know it is possible to put on 255 series but you will need to roll your fenders and will not be able to go to low

OK
I just wanted the wider back tire for a more aggresive look. What is the bolt pattern for these cars? I want to start looking into some wheels. So 18x8 with a 235 all around would be safe?
Also I want to slam the car atleast to how my supra is. So coilovers is a must!!!!

I bet a 265-section would fit on the back...I've seen 255s on all four corners of S4s, and people always say the front has less clearance than the rear. It also depends on what model A4 you buy. Brand new, I don't know. A B6 (2002-2005) will probably fit your wheels. A B5 (96-2001) will be toughest to fit your wheels on.
As for screwing up the AWD system, the thing you need to worry about is rotating diameter. Width isn't a big deal, unless the weights are drastically different between front and rear. Obviously the same wheel/tire is ideal, but I've seen plenty of staggered setups.

265? Jesus. 225 or 235 will suite the a4 best.

I had 19x 8.5 BBS ch's on my 01 a4. I down graded to 18 x 8 rs4. I like both of them. I do think that the 18 fits the car better and because the quattro system I wouldn't run wider in the rear. Even if you get a front trak, it still wouldn't make sense to have tires wider in the rear.
