Or might it be that my turbo is spewing oil in all directions (it is going out on me) and getting sucked into the pcv and that's why it looks like it's coming from there. any thoughts? either way something is really F***ed up.

It's doin some pretty wierd things right now, so who knows it might actually be running backwards. It's in limp mode, and I'm getting pissed. Advance auto, and autozone scanners aren't being able to communicate with my car, and no one knows why. looks like it's goin into the shop.

Find someone with vag-com to scan your car before you head to the shop.
Also, a really dirty air filter can cause the engine to suck excessiveoil off the top of the valve train through the PCV system. This happens because the vacuum pressure from the engine can't suck enough air through the dirty airfilter and therefore will suck air andoil off the top of the valvetrain. Remember that our cars operate under vacuumthe majortiy of thetime that we drive them.
It's also pretty common to have a little wateraround the pancake valvedue to condensation.

OK I know its been awhile but I found this part at ECS - they call it a pressure regulator valve - just go to ECStuning.com and search for "ES#7844" Cost is $25.69.
