RE: What Snow Tires??
In a test made by several Scandinavian/European Motor magazines, the best allround tyre in 2004 (without studs) was Nokian Hakkapelitta (made in Finland).
Runner up was Continental Viking Contact (Germany), And Michelin X-ice.
Of these, Continental is best on blacktop.
This is how points was weighed:
Ice 45 %
ABS-braking 10 %
Acceleration 10 %
Side grip (circle) 5 %
Track 5 %
Tactility (feedback?) 10 %
Stability 5 %
SNOW 25 %
ABS-braking 10 %
Acceleration 5 %
Track 5 %
Tactility 5 %
SLUSH 10 %
Slush planing 10 %
BLACKTOP 20 %
ABS-braking wet road 10 %
Emergency avoidance (elk test) 5 %
Noise 5 %
TOTAL 100 %
Get -T tyres for winter. -H tyres are worse in snow, and you probalby don't need the speed capability in winter.
Have fun!

blizzaks hands down.
i know somebody the had to get them to get up the hill to their house in winter
only thing is that it needs to stay below 40deg F or else they will just wear away.
the tread is very soft.
