Default What the Heck? Hidden EQ

Ok, I have a 98.5 A4 and have tried everything to get to the hidden eq in my car. I hold down every single button and power on with the engine on, off, key in, out. I've tried the number 5 first. Is there a trick I'm missing?

Dont you just turn off radio, hold preset #5 down and turn on the radio at the same time?

holy crap, i had no idea this could be done. and ya suppposedly you just take the key out, then press and hold 5 and turn it on. if it didn't do it, than you dont have the hidden EQ. im running out to my car right now to test it out lol

Yea it will display 55555555 the first 4 are for the front's and the last for are for the rear. I think the first is low, low-mid, mid, high < not positive though. You cant hear the radio when adjusting this though which sucks.

ya but luckily someone already did the work for us lol

The most popular settings for bose seem to be 88698869, however after a bit of testing with my favorite music, I found that to sound boomy and hollow and have since gone with 76567656. My next task will be to increase the directional (midrange and treble) sound on the front speakers only to bring the Bose sound stage back towards the front without sacrificing bass out of my rear speakers.

The best setting that I have heard for the non-bose system is 38679657. It still doesn't sound like bose, and certainly not like a good after-market setup, but it's a major improvement for those that wish a simple change to improve their overall sound and reduce distortion.

No you don't. Just hold 5 then turn the radio on.

I have heard about this but I haven't got it to work. I have a concert radio maybe that is why? Can anyone confirm anything about any of this?
