I think the number represents the amount of light that goes through as a percentage of the light that would go through a perfectly transparent object. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
Steven: it's tan actually, it was the light that made it look a little darker. I wouldn't like it brown

i have 20% tint all around on my silver A4. looks good. sleeeeek. i wanted 15% all around at first but was scared it would be too dark to see through at night. but after getting 20%, i think 15% isnt that much of a diff. i would go 15% if i ever get tint again

I live in NY where the law states that you can only have 70% tint. But my dad's jeep grand cherokee came with pretty dark (not sure %) tints from the dealership.
So I have two questions:
Are there exceptions to tint laws? and
Worth getting the 70% tint if I cannot go lower?
