Default Went snowboarding today...I love my car

So I went snowboarding today at Brundage in Idaho. Its about 170 miles from here to there and I enjoyed every minute of it. It's the first time I've really been able to push the limits a bit with the car and drive it on icy/snowy roads (snow was really only on the last stretch to the mountain and in the parking lot). I had a blast on the 60+ miles of curvy roads. Suggested speed on the turns - 35, speed limit - 55, my speed - well...lets not go there, not even showing the tiniest bit of losing traction or understeer - priceless. There was also a 99-00 A4 Fronttrak staying on my tail the whole way up there from Boise as well, me and her were passing everyone. But once we got in the parking lot (covered in snow and slush) she got her car stuck and mine went right through. Moral of the story - I love my Audi

Just thought I'd share.

OK, enough about the car how was your day of riding? I can't begin to say how ready I am to go boarding. Going next month can't wait.

Well it was alright. It's the earliest they have opened in 44 years so obviously grand opening + early season conditions = too many damn people and not enough lifts/runs. Most of the greens that were open were decent blues or worse because the snow was just all screwed up. But if you got away from where everyone else was going there were some decent groomed and ungroomed areas. There was really 3 choices of stuff to ride: hard icy groomed, stuff that used to be powder that has had a million people all over it and it was hard as hell to even turn in it, or almost untouched snow with a crusty top layer.

I didn't really care though because I'm moving to Virginia at the end of the month so I had to get some boarding in before I left. I didn't even think they'd be open this month. I might have to go board somewhere when I stop back home in Colorado Springs on my way to Virginia.

hello fellow snowboarder

I have a little hobby over the winter. Getting up at 3 in the morning and beating snow-plough drivers to the top of a local resort.I love to see their confused faces.
Quattro guys, you should try that sometimes

I live in Utah and I'm dreaming of the day I get to take my new (to me) '01 A4 quattro up to the slopes in the snow. I just bought a forum snowboard and I'm way too excited to try it out.

Where in Texas, Jeff?

Sorry, man. I couldn't do that. When I went to Dallas, I counted the days until I could get back home. The city is a giant strip mall.

Also, ski resort parking lots are the greatest thing in the world. Deserted ones.
