I would have to say that is the best answer yet. It lookes liek bug trails of a kind that collected the dust ??????????????????????????? I don't now man.

seriously i would have crapped my pants.. peed down my leg.. (probably both of them) and then stood there crying for twenty five minutes before realizing it was just dust..

Well, we washed the car today, and all of the dust streaks came off. There were absolutely no scratches or scuffs in the paint. I am completely baffled. The lines go in every possible direction. Some lines were 1/4 inch long, others several inches. Many lines were parallel to each other. There were no non-linear marks whatsoever.
I theorized that perhaps my spouse parked near a tree with low hanging leaves that blew in the wind, brushing against the hood, leaving sap on it which then gathered dust over night, but that doesn't account for the consistent width of every single line. I will probably never figure out what happened, and Redgoat, I damn near did become incontinent when I saw the hood this morning.
