Default Warning Light Question

I drive a 1996 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. I don't have the owner's manual. A warning light appeared today, it is yellow and is kind of onion shaped with a box on top and an x in the middle of the onion. I think it is for one of the headlights? Please help me. Thank you.

Isn't that the one for the fogs? Does the dash LCD say anything when you start it up?

I was wrong, it's a 1999 Audi... oops. Anyway, the only thing that appears on the dash LCD (is that the instrument cluster?) is "OK" then that changes to the onion with the x.

Sounds to me like the "burned-out bulb" icon. The "onion" is the bulb, the "box on top" is the threaded base of the bulb, and the X indicates it's out.,

Does the LCD indicate a particular light (e.g. left headlight) when the icon appears?

If not, put on all your lights and see which one isn't working.

onion shaped? why not just say its a circle. this onion message means you have a head or tail light out.

Your car needs more onions, the sweet kind. If you put red in it you'll **** everything up...

Just kidding man!
