Check over on Audizine for a guy named overspun I think. He sells black fiberglass pieces that fit into your vent and are pre-cut for a guage. I picked mine up for $10.

I made this little guy one evening. Used the old vent and added bondo...

brrrman in your pic what is the little black sensor? thing that is on the dash at the center of the windshield defroster?

To be honest I am not sure it is anything... It is attached/molded into the grill that covers the defrost vent - just looks like plastic.

cool thanks... i've read the owners manual and no answer there. also searched.. nothing. I was thinking auto dimmer for the high beams but our cars dont have that. my friend said sensor for the dimming mirrors but thats in the rear view. other than that I have no clue if anyone else knows or has an idea please chime in...

Im in college so the jeep is a project on hold. Bought the audi cause the jeep was killing me on gas. Its a 91 Cherokee that my parents bought new and handed down to me in 01. Its not my trail rig cause its in mint condition. It goes wheelin but moderately and nothing thats gonna get me body damage haha Im lovin the audi and all but i fricken miss my jeep this summer!!

I believe thats the sun sensor for the climate control system... i dont know why the CC system needs to know if the sun is out, but thats what it is. I have it too.

Never heard of that one... but it doesn't sound too crazy.
I know one climate control sensor is in the small vent on the dash - in the AC control unit. It's a small fan that sucks in air, measuring that cabin temp and adjusting accordingly.

haha, thats awesome. I have a White XJ too. I got my A4 to help with the gas gussling dent put into my wallet, also because its a sweet ride. My jeep is in the shop getting a new Engine, tranny, transfer case, and rear diff. Should get it back tomorrow or the day after )
