VAG-COM Issue when doing Throttlebody Allignment
Need to re-allign my throttle body due to my battery going flat.
Battery is sorted now and I tried the trick of turning the ignition on for about 5 mins, but that didn't seem to re-align my throttlebody.
So resulted to using VAG-COM.
My cars protocol is KWP-1281 so I follwed the instructions from the Rosstech website...
[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Measureing Blocks - 08]
Group 060
[Go!]
--- all good so far
But then your supposed to click on 'Switch to Basic Settings' where 'ADP RUN' is supposed to come up while the TB is being adapted.
But all I get is '00000' in the box where it's supposed to say 'ADP RUN' then finally 'ADP OK'.
It doesn't do any of this and I can't hear anything clicking around.
Screenshot here:
Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Or if anyone can help?!
My VAG-COM version is 3.11n and my car is a 1998-B5 A4Q (Manual)
Thanks.

on the last TBA I did my Vag-com didn't even have the button to do the TBA - it was there before!!! - I just hit go on block 60 and it started clicking away and the values started changing - so it did it for me. unplug your battery again and start over.

RE: VAG-COM Issue when doing Throttlebody Allignment
Ok well I'll unplug my battery and try again...
The only reason why I'm doing this is that when my car is warm the idle speed drops to about 550-600rpm and feels like its going to stall. My battery went flat so I guess it lost all my engine settings. So I need to re-allign the throttle body to fix this issue (I believe!).
If anyone knows if there is anything else I need to do then let me know.
Cheers.

Hang on a minute, all that data in the fields is total garbage!
1 - TV angle: .. something per min.
2 - TV angle: .. something 'g' per second.
3 - Op Condition: ..-48 degrees centigrade!
4 - Adapt status: 00000 - that's just a cleared field.

Just found this forum message and there's a post right at the bottom 'johncvg - Re: '97 A6 2.8 5V not starting - Posted: Feb 25, 2005 4:00 PM'
Which says...
The VAG-Com code block for a TBA on a ACK motor is 098 but the labels are wrong, readings are correct.
So the VAG-COM manual was missleading me by telling me for my KWP-1281 protocal I need to look at block 060, but it's 098!
Excellent will give 098 a bash tomorrow.
