I bought a usb cable from alpha-bid it only read codes nothing else.I am going to buy a genuine cable because it pays off in the end. After visiting my uncle last week my remote takes care of the windows and my car locks after 10mph.

The real cables have a key in them that allows you to use the cable for more than reading codes.

 

I got one from Ebay awhile ago..tried to install it and it said something didnt work when i tried to install it on my laptop, i forget what...maybe i did something wrong lol

anyone wanna put some step by step instructions on how to install this stuff?

alpha-bid has drivers on their site CLICK HERE these should work for any "ebay" cable.

Yes, "ebay" cables will only check and clear codes, you will need to purchase the full program from ross-tech for $99 to make everything work - you will get no tech support if it doesn't work correctly. and would you believe that there are unscrupulous people out there that are savvy on illegal hacked programs, you can find other versions out there.

In the end, if you want to do more than clear codes, you'll be happier with a real ross-tech cable, not a fake.

 

here are the drivers you need I uploaded the zip for you guys since I had this prob and it drove me crazy. any way connect the cable when it asks for the driver just select the unzip folder and ur done. let me know if it worked for ya

The eal cable isn't expensive. It has saved my hundreds of dollars, and when I am done with Audis, I'll sell the cable and recoup much of the cost over an ebay cable.
