yea stick with 17 or 18's and im not sure on what width is best . Just remember the tip can only hold so much tq
I'll probably go with the 18s. I'll search the forums some more for info on max tire width.

I'm not worried about the torque issue all that much. Right now I'm only thinking about chipping and exhaust and a few other mods. I will never put a supercharger on it or anything like that. Would you see the tip as an issue with just a few performance mods?

I found a thread on tire width. It sounds like 18s with 225/40s all around is the way to go. It appears that you can go with a staggered set up with 245/30s in the rear too. I know that porsche has gone with an exaggerated staggered set up on the new 911 4S. I read that, even though it was counter-intuitive, the engineers figured out that wider tires in the rear helped reduce the feeling up understeer or "push" in AWD cars. I have limited experience in AWD cars, so I doubt I could confirm that right off the bat. I would guess that this all comes into play when driving rather hard and not just cruising to work anyway.

Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. Your car looks great. I need to find a cool locale to take some better picts like you did.

Thanks!

Pturbo, you dont want a staggered set-up, Wider back tires will result in more understeer. Understeer is a result of more grip in the back than the front

Right. There is more to the set up than just the stagger if you want to reduce understeer. A stagger only would increase it. That was the counter-intuitive part for those fine German engineers to work through.

Hey man I'll totally give you an internship if you can figure out how the heck supply chain management fits into a restaurant delivery service. That would be the best deal I could ever think of....
