I was doing my monthly check under my car and saw a bunch of oil/grease/drit around the passenger side of the rear diff. Anyone know what could be leaking? I tried reaching around the boot to feel for any holes, but got nothing. I'm going to try and get it on a lift for a better look tomorrow.

 

Looks like a rear dif seal if im looking at it right.

ummm, maybe that seal, the rear diff seal.... Have fun replace'n that [:'(]

Audiboy is right. The differential seal is toast. There was a post on AW quoting the stealership at $500 to replace both rear seals. So it shouldn't be too expensive at my local shop.

This sucks.

 

I would do it yourself, be alot cheaper. I cant imagine it being to hard.

 

my shop quoted me at $90. thats just the one though.

 

it sa simple: pop it out, and pop ina new seal. couldn't take too long couple hours at most
