Which turbo upgrade?
Which turbo upgrade should i get if i go with getting a a4 1.8T? Heres teh info i got from atpturbo.com tech support.
What si the difference between the GTRS and teh GT28RS? Which would
> have a fast 0-60 time in a 2000 audi a4 1.8T? What is teh time for
> each?
Adam, do the GTRS (stealthy and stock location) for now and when the
high
flow manifold becomes available for the GTRS, you can go to that if
it's not
enough power for you. With the manifold, power will be identical
between the
two kits.
Which is more reliable?
GTRS, because it goes in the stock location, using stock hangers, and
big OEM
mounting bolts at the turbo.
You pretty much put it in and forget about it. Except for driving it
of
course.
This will be going into my daily
> driver. Now with those compared to the GT2X which is each of the
> turbos pros and cons.
GT2X doesn't have enough top end and flow to make 350 HP, but it really
kicks
butt because it comes on quick and makes enough for 300HP. However,
don't
just look at peak HP, because the 2X comes on sooner and have a fatter
powerband. We like this turbo a lot because it's a stoplight warrior.
Boost
now and pulls hard. Looks almost 100% also, but it's definitely
Garrett
power inside.

RE: Which turbo upgrade?
i think for someone with front wheel drive, the gtrs would be better than the gt2x because it doesnt spool as fast resulting in better traction? i get no tractoin as it is but am i right on this one?

RE: Which turbo upgrade?
no, i have been talking to the guy from atpturbo, and i want to decied the turbo first so i know how much to spend on the car so i will have teh money for teh turbo when i get the car. Well i would have to put an exhuast in it first then get the turbo.
I decied the 1.8T over the s4 (for now still wnat to drive the s4) b/c its cheaper insurance, gas, and more reliable, plus teh car would be a little cheaper.
Riddler the car will be quattro. No exception!

RE: Which turbo upgrade?
Riddler dont say you get any traction as it is, you are useing a neuspeed chip on the ko3, u arent making that much hp. And apg, dont even try to get those turbos unless u can tune it urself with a vag and wide band. I wouldnt worry about the elims right now, people are having lots of problems with them.
