Default turbo rebuild quote

so i got a quote of 230 to rebuild my turbo, and that is if none of the important parts are damaged. i really dont wanna put any more money into this setup but i dont have the cash for a 2871r. has anyone had a turbo rebuilt? dose this price sound reasonable? ......i also asked about there port and polishing for an extra hundo, do u guys think this is worth the extra cash?

I dunno man... That would be almost half the cost of a new k04.. Is there a waranty if they do it??
How long have you had your k04?? was it new when you got it? What psi do you normaly run??
If money is tight, or you dont want to dump alot into it, i think the rebuild is gunna be the way to go.

what he trying to say, give the turbo to him, and you can got a new t3/t4 instead of k04.

i dont think rennart dose rebuilds, most shops just replace or upgrade (2871r).........i bought my turbo used about a year ago for 475 shipped, it looked real good but it had almost as much shaft play as my stock k03 so i knew it wasnt going to last long....normally run about 20 psi on it......during some testing runs with different parts i came close to 30 psi so that didnt help any............... lately i have really been thinking of putting my car on ebay and just seeing wut i could get for it.

As long as the blades are in good shape a rebuild would make a lot of sense i think...

that price isnt too bad, the actual parts to do it is like $50 but it does take some skill to do, done in on some t3's but never a kkk so it could be more..... but if money is tight Id just ger her rebuilt tilly ou can get a bt and then you will be able to sell the k04 for more cuz its fresh

parts are 89.99 and thats if nothing is damaged, so they charge 140 labor to rebuild it. and another 100 if i want it p&p, would it be worth it to p&p it?

How much would you want for the whole car, minus the blown turbo. I would deffinently be interested, but I would not deal trough ebay for a car. Let me know what your looking for, because I think im looking to trade my 2.8 for a 1.8t.
