Default Troubleshouting a CEL-P0422

Hey guys. I could use some help with this one. The CEL came one when I was driving to work this morning. My car drove fine as far as I could tell, so I continued to work. On the way home I stoped at Autozone and pulled a code - PO422. I printed out the results and here they are -
1)catalytic converter defective (failure possiby due to #2, 3, or 4)
2)engine misfire or running condition
3)Large vacuum leak
4)Engine oil leakage into exhaust-valve guide seals. piston rings.

I think I can rule out a large vacuum leak, since I'm holding boost. Also, I haven't felt the engine misfire or anything like that, but about 600 miles ago I did do an oil change/seafoam treatment/spark plug change. The car has been running fine since then, up until I got the CEL. I put the labree HFC on over 5 months ago and it was brand new.

Any thoughts, or plans of action would be greatly appreciated.

Thats a cat below efficiency code, 90% chance the cat has to be replaced. Have you already had the re-flash for the cat coverter?

Its never really isthe cat, the re-flash is desinged to make the ECM less sensitive to the O2 sensors so it won't throw a code so easilly. So far there is a TSB for the 1.8,2.8,2.7, and4.2L engines.
If you go into the dealer to get the ECM re-flashed it WILL erase any programming in the prom chip, like APR, GIAC, MTM ect. You will have to go back to the dealer you got the chip from and have them re-program the ECM for free.

^ I agree but possibly the HO2S ( heated O2 sensor ) receiving bad signal or wiring fault and this problem If we could call it one could be and possibly is down to upgrades and programming sounds good to me

Thanks guys. That info helps me. Why would it have taken 5 or 6 months for the computer to to just now catch it though? I did my exhaust system that long ago...

carbon build up could cover that since you replaced the cat with a high flow cat plus many other things like its not a stock cat so how would the HO2S know what you did and what mods have you done in the 6 months

P0442

EVAP Emission Contr.Sys.(Small Leak) Leak Detected

This code can be caused by something as simple as the gas cap not being sealed completely.

I would clear the code, and see if it comes back or not.

I get this same code on my truck, every time the wife puts gas in it! She never tightens the gas cap all the way somehow and I find it loose.
