Default Transmission slippage

I have an 98 A4 Avant Wagon. The automatic transmission slipped a while ago and the car could not move.
The filter and transmission fluid was changed and the car seems to drive fine. There is still a delay in shifting to the next gear.
Has anyone had this problem and do you think I need to replace the transmission.

Default RE: Transmission slippage

If its more than a 1 second delay, and the revs go up (slipage)then there might be something else going on, but its a slosh box. If you think about it, 1 second is a long time to hang inbetween gears, and the slower you drive, it seems, the slower it will take to shift.. In other words, its normal, unfortunately. You can always get a tip chip: http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...L=GIACTipChips
It appears they dont have it available for a 98 avant, but I dont know why it wouldnt work in an avant if itll work in a sedan. You could call them.
