Default Transmission flush

Hii all,

I wanted to do transmission flush for my car, when i went to fire stone they were asking me $300 for transmission and brake fluid flush,

Can we go to any mechanic to do transmission flush and brake flush or do we have to go to either dealer or ..... fire stone.

I think if i go to some mechanic he would do it for much cheaper.

Any suggestions?.

Thanks,
ram.

hmm $300 all in including materials and labour doesn't sound bad to me plus the "warranty"

Depends what they mean by a Flush.

To drop the pan, change the filter and put in a complete 9 liters of OEM synthetic tranny fluid (Im assuming you have a tip) would cost about 300 dollars.

I wouldn't have anything done at firestone. They probably have no clue as to what fluid to use.

For drain and fill (about 3 L) expect to pay about 90 dollars including laobr and fluid.

So one of a mobile mechanic told that he would be able to do that, but he did not give me a quote, would you be able to let me know what kind of transmission fluid goes in that way i will ask him to put it in.

Thanks,
Ram.
