i was driving my a4 b5 about a week ago and the i think i knocked a spring or something loose because my tiptronic shifter moves when i hit turns. For instance i could be on the highway in regular drive and the lever easily moves into tiptronic mode can anybody help me out

 

You probably broke the shifter assembly, if it flops from tip to auto there is a plastic thingy that keeps it in place that usually breaks. Not a cheap fix.

 

I have the same problem with my A6. How expensive is this? Can it be done without taking it to the dealership? THanks
