I have been reading up on the tiptronic chip available for 99-01 a4 and there doesn't seem to be much to read. only that it can shave your shift delay time down to about .2 of a second.... this sounds like a whole lot of fun and all but what about the tranny? will it hold up this type of behavior for long? doesn't the tranny need time to build line pressure? does anyone have this modification and or heard good/ bad things about it??? thanks -jet

 

I was thinkin' the same thing, not for the performance but for the feel of the shifts... The stock tranny seems to be really laggy, but I would rather not risk raising the tranny temps or causing damage...

had mine chipped for two years now -- no problems. shifters seem much quicker..

 

seems to be a very reliable mod. most people have nothing but good things to say. But, most people dont have tip so thats why you dont see a whole lotta reviews on it.

 

Worth the money... do it... makes the tip much more fun to drive... i love it... although nowhere close to maual of course...

 

I hav had the tip chip for about 30K miles. Much crisper shifting. worth the money just for the feel.
