Tinting windows... $300?

Tinting windows... $300?
So the only shop I know of around here that will do a decent job with tint wants just under $300 and for me to leave my car there for a week.
I asked why so much and he said because they give you a lifetime warantee and because they're the best around (he really seemed keen on repeatedly pointing that out [shrug]).
Is that right?
Anybody know a site to get decent tint precut? I'll just do it myself if it's going to cost that much...

both my local places quoted me $360 - these had lifetime guarentee's too, they even cover tint replacement if you scratch it yourself - but I'm sure everyone else that lives in a big city will chime in saying they got it for $180 - competition is a good thing. This has been covered many a time, so lets not let this one get too long guys
no idea where to get pre-cuts

Don't be a miser when it comes to your tint! In most cases, if you're getting a "deal" at half of the price of the pro shops, you're compromising the quality of the work and the materials used. I have seen several examples at my dealer of employees' cars, and the worst looking jobs were the ones who skimped in $$ and went for the "deal." The most amazing tints I saw were done at the dealer, and the work on all cars was flawless. I especially loved the "silver" tint (also the most expensive). After seeing a half-dozen examples, I am DEFINITELY planning on using the dealer (they contract a local pro shop to do all of their tinting). They quote $275-475, depending on what kind of tint/how many windows you want.
I KNOW, THAT'S STEEP. BUT UNLIKE THE HATERS, I AIN'T CHEAP!!!! So spare your "cheap" comments, please! I'm not trying to start up a pricing debate here.
If your shop has a good guarantee and has been around for a while (not going to shut down in the near future), what else do you need?

I guess a little under 300 isn't the worst deal out there, especiallyif you are confident about his work. Leaving the car there for a week is ludacris though! It is a 2 hour job, 3 hour max.... for all 5 windows and you can drive away as soon as it is done. Just tell him you wont put your window down for 48 hours......

For 300, might as well just forget the tint, and get that thing chipped.
Themost fun mod you can do is a chip.
Just save up another 200, and chip that thing!
If you're already chipped, and its not in your sig, then please ignore my comment, and get your sig updated.

I didn't get mine tinted - but they said something(wasn't really listening after he said $365) about removing the window's from the car to fully tint them. might be something like that. better ask again and find out why. Unless they said they were backed up for a week and you misunderstood?

here in steamboat...small town, its 300. However, I got mine done in the city i think for 280 but found a place for around 200... decided to go with somewhere that I knew was good. I mean if you think about it 80 bucks more for something thats going to last twice as long is soooo worth it
