My tint was professionally done and they did not cut around the tail light. Look at 99.43283% of all factory tint jobs, and you'll see they dont cut around the tail light.

Factory tint is not bound by law, aftermarket tint is. Cops can give you multiple tickets for having the third brake light tinted over. Depending how dark the tint is if someone rear ended you they could blame it on you for having your third brake light tinted.

this doesn't make sense to me because a 3rd brake light isn't required by law at all. so if the bulb burns out, or you tint over it, i cant imagine thats you could get a ticket for this... unless someone can prove me wrong?

Do you even read what you say? Factory tint has to adhere to strict DOT guidelines. If you're going to be a Google expert, at least get what you read straight.

Factory tint may have to adhere to dot guidelines but it does not adhere to aftermarket tin law hence "Factory tint is not bound by law, aftermarket tint is" (Maybe I should have said "Factory tint is not bound by aftermarket tint law".)
example: 20% tint is illegal in NY but it comes standard on almost all SUV's. And who said I was a google expert? As to "getting what I read straight" I have no idea what you are talking about. [sm=dontgetit.gif]
