When should the timing belt be changed on 2001 a4's?

Im about to buy a 2001 a4 1.8t Quattro M from a car dealership and the audi has 63k miles i was wondering if it should be changed because i dont wanna buy it then have to pay like 2 grand to have someone change it. so if it hasnt been changed should i make them change it or take off like 1500 of the price?
