They sell just about any tools you need for Audi. You can get the cam tool (3243 for 12 valve) and the crank holder (3242 for any 2.8) for $100 bucks for both. Shipping is standard UPS ground service, though, which costs a low $10.00. I wish the sight had an option to ship it faster, but not.
Look, I'm a VW certified tech. If you have the cam tool and crank tool, you can get the timing correct, but you really should have some experience working with Audi. Audi and VW are like no other car. If you get the timing wrong, your engine will need to be rebuilt, plain and simple.

Why on earth do you dig up a thread from 2 years ago? Audi and VW aren't that much different from any other car. As a VW tech I'm sure you know the difference between non-interference and interference engine designs...
