"you could pull the front off and check out the T-belt"
Pull the front what off? Sorry I'm not very mechanicly inclined. My dads a heavy engine mechanic so I'll work with him. Thanks for the tip.

The front bumper assembly has to come off to do any kind of work on the front of the motor. It sounds worse than it really is so dont be discouraged. I should also add that since summer's coming, this is a great opportunity to do a coolant flush.

RE: Timing belt
If you get the timing belt kit from dieselgeeks.com then it will come with 2 bolts which you put on and they enable you to just pull the radiator bracket away from the engine to do the job. This way there are less wires to disconnect.

RE: Timing belt
hey zoti - how long do you think those bolts are? - I picked up the ECS ultimate kit and they don't supply those - I found some 120mm at my work - thats 4.5 inches. would I need longer one's?

RE: Timing belt
As long as the thread on those bolts fitI think you are going to be ok. I think that is about the lenght of the bolts I got. You only need 3-4 inches of clearence and it will save you from disconnecting all the wires that go through the radiator frame.
