Default Timing belt time

My buddies going to do my timing belt at his shop KB Motorsports on saturday. He said he'll charge me $30/hr and should take about 8-10 hours. I bought the kit from ecs for $277 and if it takes him 10 hours thats $577 total. Thats not bad though. The dealer wanted $1400 and a independent shop wanted $1000. He's also installing my Apr snub mount. I also just installed my k&n drop in. And since Ill be carless hes going to let me ride his 01 TL1000 around for the day. I've got 81,000 miles on the car and from all the horror stories I hear I figure its better to be safe then sorry.

Have him do the front engine seals at the same time. Takes 15 minutes more.

Just picked up my car. The timing belt is installed and only cost me a total of $517 total. That's $277 for parts and $240 for labor. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than Audi but I guess that's what friends are for. I also had him install my APR snub and it feels great. The snub really stiffens up the shifts a lot.

It's always nice to know mechanically inclined people. Glad to hear your car is all fixed up.
