Hey guys, need to change the timing belt on the audi, just have a simple question, the crank pulley bolt, anything special about it, 12-point, extremely huge socket i need to buy anything like that, just basically someone tell me what size and if is reg 6 point or 12 point, or some crazy german ****. thanks.

 

Ummm, telling us something about your car, like what engine it has will help

 

try audiworld.com, they have 2 type ups for a b5,(which im asuming is what you have), anyway, if it is the crank is a 12point 19mm socket. And make sure you have a good 6mm socket as well. I broke two of them on the same pully.

take a good look at the time you get to replace the belt and that also includes all the bits removed

 

its a 12v v6, and wow that flat rate on the 1.8t is shitty. 2.2 hours is what it pays, hrmm makes me not wanna go work for the audi dealership.

is crank pulley bolt on 2.8 12v a 19mm 12pt as well?
