Default Time for a new Clutch?

It seems that lately in my '99 2.8QM that my clutch engaugement has been getting shorter and shorter. The clutch only starts to engauge at about the last Inch of the pedal being out. Think its time for a new clutch? Just hit 74000 miles too. Tell me what ya think.
