tie rod ends.......... plz help
Is it very difficult tp replace these on a fwd car. The car is not a quattro. I thought the problem was bearings after closer inspection today I believe it is tie rod ends. 90,000 miles on car. Thank you in advance.

i just replaced one of mine a few days ago and it's pretty easy...i didn't even need an alignment after i was done. if you can get the accurate measurements you'll be ok.
in step 2...rather than measuring the thread of the tre while it's on the car, just make note of how many turns you make as you're turning the lock nut, hold the nut steady with some tape, remove the tre, than turn the nut back the same number of turns, and measure it that way. it's much more accurate than trying to measure it inside the wheel well.
also, it's very important to jack up the suspension to the normal ride height. the closer you get it, the easier it will be to remove and install the tre. i didn't do this before i removed the wheel so i had to adjust it a few times. if you get close enough the tre will come out with very little force.
