Think I found the problem, but need help
OK, my turn.
2000 1.8T Quattro, APR 93 chip
I have had a long running problem with the car not starting immediately after filling with gas. I thought I had located the problem when I found a crack in one of the vacuum line one-way valves. I replaced the valve but to no avail.
Engine threw CEL and codes showed both intermittent rich and lean conditions pointing to N80 (EVAP purge valve problem). Internal resistance of valve within specs. Ran diagnostic output sequence with VAGcom and all valves in the system actuate (N80, N122, N75, N249, N30-33, but shows short to ground (somewhere). Any suggestions as to where to look for the short?

RE: Think I found the problem, but need help
Dont know if this will help
If it only occurs when you fill the tank,
Do you fill it right till it clicks on the nozzel ?
If you let it click to many times it will Fill the expansion tank
in the gas tank where the Evap purges the gas in the tank
