look, you are way off. we aren't talking about how the name testpipe came to be.

what i am trying to do is explain to you where our cat is, or where a testpipe would go. and that it doesn't have anything to do wtih our downpipes. that is all..

I know where the cat is and where the testpipe would go. I have a good amount of experience and have dealt with a lot of cars, I'm no newb. We have a misunderstanding, that is all. Now can anyone answer my question?

To ask another simple question of you. Is the cat in the downpipe on these cars?

i think i know where you are getting confused. on ecodetunings website they call their testpipe for our model a downpipe. I'm not sure about the fitment issue but i think it has been done. just get the testpipe from ecode watch out they kill you on shipping like $26. the downpipe is different. if you look under your hood see where the back of the cat is? thats where the downpipe goes down to meet the exhaust piping.

jesus dude. you are killing me over here. read what i wrote earlier:

"ugh... our cars go turbo > cat > downpipe >exhaust..the testpipe replaces the cat. and bolts up to the downpipe. it is not part of the downpipe in any way"

You need to relax and stop getting so worked up over a misunderstanding. Thanks for all the responses though.

the cat is not "in" anything. it is the catalytic converter. it is bolted right up to the turbo. then after that is the downpipe. its the one with the flex piece in it. then after thats its the rest of the exhaust

if you get it from e-code be sure to get the test pipe to downpipe gasket it doesn't come with one it only camoes with the turbo to test pipe gasket but onther then that just get some anti-seize and use on all the bolts just in cause you need to remove later it will make it easyer
