Telling if my car is quattro

Telling if my car is quattro
Hey guys I bought my car thinking it was a Quattro since it had the badges and all, and I was lined up with a guy who wanted to swap his performance exhaust for my stock one. We made sure that we were both 1.8TQM, and then Iget a call from the place we were having the work done telling me that my car was not Quattro, but in fact FWD! Sooo ya, I'm pretty mad about that, but I dont understand how it cannot be Quattro since the engine is lined up parallel to the car, which most of the time means rear or AWD. Is there some way that Audi configures their enginesparallel to the car but still maintains FWD? And if not, is there some other way to tell if the car is Quattro or not besides the badges? Thanks for any responses.

Should be very noticeable wether it is fwd or quattro, evenwithout having to spin the tires to find out. Or you could just look under the car, which any smart buyer would do when purchasing a vehicle.

RE: Telling if my car is quattro
Thats what I thought about putting the badges on...why would you do that unless it was actually quattro...anyway...this is what my engine looks like, and the pistons seemed to be lined up parallel to the car which on most cars means either rear or AWD...could anyone possibly post a pic of their FWD engine so I could compare(I dont have my car right now so I cant check to see if I have a driveshaft/rear differential. And do the FWD engines look the same or are they configured differently? Thanks
