Default tach signal

where does the tach signal come from on a b5 99. after I did my clutch. I think I got some oil on one of my sensors and my tach is acting up.. any suggestions?

Theres an engine rpm sensor that goes into the trans and reads off the flywheel. You might just have to tighten that a little to get a better signal.

hmm. mine didn't have one by the FW. If it was it was just one of the 2 clips
there was one over the axle and on horizontal on top of the tranny. I bet it was that one. I'll get to it when It starts acting up again..
