huh? I think most people on here use synthetic oil. From what i was told it is pretty much required. I could be wrong though. I use Royal Purple full syn. and my car runs great!

If the previous owner didn't use synthetic, what would be the best thing to do to kind of revese any problems he may have caused? Purging? etc..

The only thing that might happen going from conventional to Synthetic would be any kind of warn or old seal might leak. I know I have seen that happen plenty of times.

I just changed my oil from conventional to Synthetic and have seen a slight oil leak in my garage. Is this temporary? What should I do now?

It can be both, run the car letting it go through its heat cycles and see if it stop. If not you will have to dig down more and see where it is coming from and figure out what you have to do to eleminate the problem!

How long have you been running synthetic oil?

I just had the oil changed 2 days ago with Autohaus Imports Service in Raleigh (a sponsor here - see top left of this page) I travelled 15 miles back home and haven't used the car since. I noticed the leak on the garage when I moved the vehicle to clean it.

From what I can tell of the service records, the previous owner brought the car to the dealer every 10k miles for service. He traded it in at an Infiniti dealer where I got it. The dealer said they used Mobil 1 conventional oil about a month ago. I drove the car for around 300 miles, put Seaoil on the crankcase, drove it again for 200 miles and then brought it to Autohaus to change oil to synthetic - They used Amsoil 5w-30. My 2003 A4 1.8T has only 45,000 miles on it. Any thoughts?
