I really like the look of my dash and console. I've seen pics of aftermarket headunits and really dont like the way they sit with so much "empty space" in our dash's. But I would like to replace my factory speakers, my old car had 100% Infinity Kappa and I guess I got spoiled but I cant stand the sound of my Symphony at even mildly loud volume.

So my question is, have any of you replaced the factory speakers with some aftermarket?
How is the sound quality? Does the Symphony have enough power for them?

If anyone knows the specs on the Symphony (without just guessing, I mean REALLY KNOW the specs..) what is the RMS and peak wattage out of this thing per channel ??

oh, and i'm sure I could search it but while we're on the topic, what are my speaker sizes ?? The 1"ers are obvious but beyond that I'm just guessing...

What year/model you have. You sorta have to be more descriptive with what year and model you have when askin ?'s like this, or you won't get a good answer. I have an '04 1.8T and both the front and back are 6.5" and 1" conponents. I replaced the back ones with MB Quart Premiums (PCE-216's). They sound very nice. I haven't gotten an amp for them yet, so i don'y know there true potential yet. www.crutchfeild.com has more or less everything you'll ever need for your car. Audio and video wise. I would've bought from them if not for these guys i know who get there stuff "that falls off the back of trucks" hehe. But I'd recomend the crutchfeild place.

 

well i forgot who had on audiforums but someone put a whole homemade screen in their console...it looked sweet but looked like a mess of stuff...it is a lot of empty space so try to go for something large and one that fits

 

My Symphony HU has 80 watts with 8 speakers.

 

amplify your stock speakers, you'd prolly be happy.

I thought i only had 6 , but as my question shows, I'm not sure.. ( 2 in door , rear deck)

and headshock... if i'm unhappy with my factory speakers at non-amplified "mildly loud" volume and I used to have an entire Kappa system.. I highky doubt that I'd be even remotely happy with the sound out of my factory speakers with an amp..

 

go to the crutchfield link above, you can look up your car and it will tell you all the sizes for the speakers...

 

i'm really not that worried about the speaker sizes... I know I can figure that out..

What I'm really hoping for is Watts per channel of the Syphony H.U....

Crutchfield is only giving me sizing for the rear deck, not even showing any options for the doors...
