Default Switching from Auto to manual

I was wondering what you would need to switch in your car besides the transmission and putting a pedal in if you changed a automatic tiptronic to a manual? If I didn"t want to sell my car and get a manual.

If you have $5,000 to spend on swapping the transmission, do it. Otherwise don't.

Thread over.

Have you ever heard of level 10 for an automatic tiptronic upgrade so I can put a bigger turbo in than a K04 has anybody done this?

Level 10 upgrade is the only way to go, yes. But, it makes for a very hard shifts, enough to mess with your driving experience. Just buy/sell/trade and get a manual.

the tip tranny is stronger than people give it credit for. some guy on audizine is running a 71r elim (close to 300whp) on his tip tranny and its been holding up fine.

Brian, the guy's already having problems with his tranny and it's only been what, a couple of months? He said he definitely feels the tranny starting to degrade.

I'm not saying tips are **** (I drive a tip, tyvm) I'm just saying they're not the kind of transmission you want if you're going to throw a Stage 19308510385901835+++ turbo on it.

oh really? didn't read the entire thing through. but i was just looking into ZF (company who makes our trannies) and found this info out

5HP19FL = A4 (1.8, 2.8), A6 (2.8), A8 (3.7) Input Torque = 310 Nm (~ 228 Ft/Lb)

5HP19FLA = A4 (Quattro 1.8, 2.8), S4 (Quattro 2.7), A6 (Quattro 2.7, 2.8, 3.0 ), Allroad (Quattro 2.7) Input Torque = 420 Nm (~310 Ft/Lb)
which means the FWD tip tannies can only handle 228 ft lbs of torque but the Quattro trannies can handle 310.

a 71r elim might be a bit much for the tip tranny but a gtrs shouldn't be a problem. spend an extra 800 for a lvl 10 valve body for extra peace of mind if u want
