Surprise Surprise
Yesterday I decided that I want to replace my windshield wipers. I goto the local gas station but the ones he has won't fit my arm so he suggest that I goto the auto parts store. I drive in to AutoZone and look around. Don't find anything that will fit so I goto the counter and ask. The guy replies' 'They have to be special ordered'. So I ask the price and he hits me with $69.95 for the pair. This can't be right can it? Does anyone know of a cheaper place to get wiper blades for a 2002 A4 Quattro?
What other special order items can I look forward to? My front left side fog light is out and needs to be replaced. Is this a special order item too?

RE: Surprise Surprise
You are correct, but.....
There are no blades at Walmart or AutoZone or Pepboys for the 2002 Audi. Checked all book and computer systems there, even asked the guy at AutoZone who stated that they had to be ordered. [&:]

RE: Surprise Surprise
Tell you what, you send me those blade and if they don't fit you pay me double the cost. That is how confident I am that the blade on the shelf will not fit. If you can find a url that is selling for a 2002 A4 Quattro send it to me.
I checked them all and there are no blade on the shelf that fit. I need to order them if I want them. The only listing for a 2002 A4 Quattro is refills. The key here is the year. Check it out for yourself. I don't have refillable wiper blades on this car so that is not an option.

RE: Surprise Surprise
Umm....
I don't mean to sound stupid, but can't you just take the insert out that you are currently using and find the appropriate length in the store?
Our local auto parts store (Shucks) doesn't have the 2001 A4 listed in the parts catalog, but it was an easy fix to just compare the size of the existing blade with the new ones in the store.
And viola - I have new wiper blades!

I tried this. Finding the proper length is not a problem. The problem I found is that the location where the blade attaches to the arm is not the proper size. For some reason this spot on the blades I have is smaller width wise and the replacement blades I have found don't allow me to attach them to the arm because they are too wide.
I will continue to look and see if I can find any local before I goto mail order.
