Default stripped lug nut

Don't know who to blame for this...Discount Tires for over tightening or Pep Boys (had to get new front tires and they said they couldn't take it off) could be lieing to me...either way no one is taking responsibility for the stripped lug nut.
anyways, does anyone know where i could get it fixed, and is it true that my rotor might be jacked cuz of this? and more importantly...how bad is this going to hurt my wallet?

are the threads stiped or the hex head. if its just the head, they should have a tool that'll take it off.

The head of the lug nut is stripped? Try these -- they DO work:

Is it a form of locking lugnut..

Usually stripping the thread makes it come off.

That is realy wierd.

anywho

get a chunk of wood.

put that wood up against your wheel to stop any chance of marr'int the wheel

put a pry bar/screwdriver against the back side of the nut.. prying it twoards the impact wrench as you try and remove the nut.

You need some way to force the nut to hit what threads remain on the bolt.

There has to be some remaining threads or the bolt would come off.

You could drill the head of the bolt off to get the wheel off just be careful to not damage the wheel. After that is off the bolt might come out easier or it may not. So you might have to drill it even further and retap the threads on the hub.

When they put the lug nut s back in I'm assumiong they used an impact gun. The bolt if it was rusty or if the hub was rusty when they impacted it back in sometimes they can weld themselves in to the threads and make it impossoblie to get out.

pep boys would have used impact to get it off so its not really there fault it stipped. More likely thou they used a SAE socket instead of a Metric one. That would do it. Get the thing headshok said. That should work great.
