strange damage (pics)
i was looking at my car today and i noticed some odd hole in the undercarriage. it does not seem to be affecting anything, but it looks kinda bad and i don't know what it is and how it got there.
what part of the car is this, and what would be the best way to fix it?
thanks.

very strange.. must have hit something ever go drifting around a corner in the snow?? sometimes the snow can cover up things that you dont see.. and BAM you hit them.. anyone else drive your car? are you the original owner?

Looks like something whacked the thing. Its not dented on the bottom, so I think something whacked it side on. I first thought maybe it had been lifted in the wrong place, but it would have buckled from the bottom...

That certainly looks like frame damage to me. . . . . Honestly that would almost make me sell the car. That can be so dangerous if left un attended. It is easy enough to fix I think. It's just a welded plate.
That is almost definitely drift damage, the only logical explanation anyway.

i bought the car used.
i just got up to college and have had the car checked many times before i came up here...nobody noticed that.
i feel like it may have just happened, but i do not know how.
i am pretty shocked by this.
now that i am at school, i can not take the car into the audi dealership that has been servicing my car. i don't know where to go to get this looked at.
