the resonator is an area for the gas to expand or open out rather than backflusing causing back pressure, if you use a strait 3" pipe with no silencers at all you would need 2 to 3 swaged pipes in the flow to compress the grass, a swaged pipe is a reducer and I recommend 2 " then 2".5 then depending on the rear box 3"

i am planning on using no larger pipe than 2.75 pipe, cause i will probably not go bt
the only turbo upgrade i will do is to a ko4 maybe and that would be if i blow the ko3, but i could probably find someone online that is doing a bt and get their ko3 cheap
so to sum it up, i don't want noisy as hell don't want to blow anything and want to do a cheaper custom exhaust, so then the question is which muffler would sound good and not have a ricer tip on it, and still be a straight through?

well, if you are going muffler, i believe you can go to the audi website and they se basic parts for our cars. i found it before, but im looking again. i believe they have a muffler for our cars also.
