Default stock stereo

I have a stock audi concert stereo w/ an Infiniti Basslink Sub hooked up to my rear deck speakers. I want to install a new head unit but do I have change out all of my stock speakers because of the external stock amps or can I leave them in for now because I want to put in the MB Quart seperates but can't afford them at the moment. Thanks Dudes

I hooked up My Panasonic head unit and i have a Bose Speaker system. I got it done around here for $52. And they cross wired my stock amp so it would work with my Head Unit. I dont know if this helps at all. Just thought id share it with you.

make sure you can get a dash kit for your car. 99.5 and 2000 audi symphonies -- kits arent available. see my post below "THE IMPOSSIBLE 2000 a4"

Thanks for the info. I'm relizing customizing this car is unlike customizing any other cars I've had in the past. Do you know anyplace that sells a kit or did you make you kit yourself.

check out my post below... if your head unit was like mine, there are NO dash kits available. Get out the yellow pages, and start calling around... my first few quotes were 250 each... then found one for 110. Compared with a regular dash kit that is 15 dollars... seems kinda steep. The 15 dollar ones look cheap though (You can get them for 1996 - 1999, and 2001+), they have a little storage area above or below the deck (depends on where you want to mount it) ... but it is just.. i dont know. cheap plastic. I'm stoked with the custom dash kit that was made for me.

as for getting the stock head unit out... check ebay, or crutchfields, for the "keys" required to pull the stock unit out. a stereo shop should take the deck out for you, for like.. 5 dollars, or free... it takes like 12 seconds, IF you have the key.

Another thing to remember, is some of the dealerships, wont work on your car (wont VAG it) if you have an aftermarket stereo. Soemthing to do with the K wire... i dunno. some dealers will, some wont.
