So I have to replace the two hoses that lead from my secondary air pump - they are brittle after 6 years and have cracked off.
I was expecting 30 bucks a hose - maybe 40 bucks a hose tops.

So he rings up the two part #'s...

I am thinking now - I def gotta return these parts.
Since it was the hoses that broke and not the connectors, I am going to mod the broken pipes and make my own. Maybe I'll do a tech article for that too.

Are these hoses special in some way in which rubber hose will not work? Thats a TON of money for just 2 hoses...

yah, audi makes money on parts. Trust me bro, the list price on those is very very low, they just dont sell them for the list price though.

For example at my dealership, a 710N is 35$ LIST PRICE. They sell it for 70$.

 

this is why i love that my grandfather works at a body shop that specializes in exotics. They get everythin from champion audi dirt cheap
