Default starter problem

Hey to all... I have to change my starter on my 97 A4 2.8 quattro and I am having a hell of a time.. any suggestions as to get this alternator off to remove the starter? There is barely room for a tool in here.

Also I have new springs and shocks to put on her , so can anyone give me any tips about removing the old suspension. I have lowered alot of cars but never an Audi.. any help would be great.
Thanks

Remove the bumper and pull the lock carrier forward.

did you actually think it was going to be a simple unbolt/bolt on job?? You need to tear down the entire car starting at the trunk to replace the starter didnt you know this?

Cmon its not that bad. It sounds kinda intimidating at first but pulling the bumper off and the lock carrier forward isnt all that hard.
