Where is the starter? and is it easy to replace? I have a 99.5 audi a4 1.8T tip...I search but couldnt find anything helpful....The reason why i ask, because my car occasionally wont start if i drove it for awhile unless i waited awhile and not starting if after 30 mins. stopping the engine. The battery is full but if doesnt sound like it turning over at all. sorry if this is confusing but Thanks for any advice!

 

heh I just replaced mine. If you have to replace it, mine was on the passenger side of the engine, you have to jack the car up, loosen the ac compressor, loosen the tensioner and drop the ac down, then you can get to it no problems at all. I have a manual and I am not sure that it is the same on both of ours, but I would assume so.

still might be the battery low on cranking amps, what volts is the battery reading?, when you manage to start the engine what volts does the battery read then?, have you tried to boost start it?

 

It really isnt bad. You can do the full job in an hour with no problem. I had to do three in a row, so I am pretty good at it now...lol

just remember the radio code will be lost when you unhook the battery
