Stages?
Im sorry but what does it mean when they say Stage 1 2 or 3 like Chip APR stage 1?
whats the difference between stages?
also i was looking through ecstuning.com and came across the APR chips
what do they mean when it says program 1,2,3 or 4. Is it "Available options are stock, 91octane, 93octane, 100 octane and valet mode. " <<is this what they mean. If so, if i get 93 octane does that mean i have to use ONLY 93 octane?
http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...=Chip%20Tuning
sorry for the retarded questions.
Thanks

RE: Stages?
In general terms they are just different stages of performance upgrades to a car. Stage 1 offers entry level performance upgrades, Stage 4 could offer insane performance with all the prerequisites of Stages 1, 2, and 3. What one considers what upgrades are for what stage is a matter of opinion.
The automotive after-market uses it as a marketing or product classification to indicate which stage their product would be used, usually requiring the modifications from the stages before it. This also provides them with an upgrade path for their customers/us.

RE: Stages?
stages are just what u have done to ur car, stage 1 chip stage 2 chip+exhaust and so on. if u get 93 it means that the car will work best with 93 octane. u can put 91 in but it wont perform as well, it will still drive but u may loose a few hp but it wont kill ur car
