no, but is u chip it will remove the limiter and u will have more power and then you will reach those high speeds faster

Why do you need to go faster than 130 mph?

You'll most likely never be fast enough to hit 130 in the quater and most defenitly not going to be hitting 130 on the straights of an auto-x track.

The only time I do 100+ is in PA. I stick it on cruise at 115-120 or cruise at 100 or so on 80.

BTW... its a "Speed Limiter" which limits top speed.. not an acceleration limiter.. just go get a chip and you will knock out both

I guess...he obviously hasn't modded anything major yet or he wouldn't be asking this question.

Real tracks have much stricter rules and regs., depending on the mod, he could be moved up to a modified class where he'd be lapped by a bunch of the cars.

Have you taken your 96 to the "real track"? I've actually been contemplating taking mine, but those miles are really starting to put a toll on the suspension. I'd need a little upgrade before I go into it with a stocker.

I gues it was a little harsh but I'm not trying to be a d!ck. Just I know I wouldn't want someone flying past my governed 130 on the highway.

You can start with a chip to de-govern it and it will be quicker.

Maybe it's because I haven't driven the 1.8T at those speeds, I bet it takes a lot longer than I'd want to wait, so maybe it really needs it. The 2.8 pulls up there alright though, the old 12V still has some "oomph" even when it hits the fuel cut off, it still feels like it's pulling.

I'll be getting my B7 chipped for two reasons. First, the extra 41 horsepower seems to be just the right amount to turn a sweet ride into an ecstatically sweet ride. Second, I don't like the idea of the speed limiter. It's not there for any reason other than to allow Audi to put W-rated rubber on the car and not get into dutch with the insurance carriers. I'll put Z-rated tires on my car, get it chipped and all will be golden.

As for wanting to go more than 130... There are plenty of open highways where my B7 will get there in enough of time to roll past it, if the limiter wasn't there. As far as I'm concerned, if there's nobody else on the road and the car feels right... that's good enough for me.

Well you have a 2.0T, it probably already pulls nicely to 130.

You don't need Z rated's unless you have roads around you like I do and cruise at 100+ mph.
