special kind of coolant?

i was reading the manuel for my 2.8 12v and it said to use certain type of coolant, dont remember what kind it was though, think it was g12 or something like that, what brand do u guys use

You got it right = G12.

G12 is right. You'll have to go to a VW or Audi dealer, or a place that services German cars.

What so special about this coolant? Can't you use Prestone Long Life? What implication would it do to the car?

I think the green coolant when mixed with the g12 (pink), turns to jelly or something. (no experience just read it online)

G12 is made for our cars and the components it circulates in. Yes NEVER mix coolants, they turn to brown goo as TomRitt said.

ecs tuning sells the pentosin g12 coolant that's a concentrat, so it needs to be mixed 1:1 with water. it's like 9.95 for 1.5 liters

Yes that is the way G12 comes. Only mix it with equal parts of distilled water though.
