Default speaker fit, custom help

first post. hi thanks for having an audi forum. i've been looking to replace the rear speakers in my 98 a4 they seem to be blown the are very krackly, i bought alpine 5.25 in speakers but the oe speakers have a square plastic addition surround them making the alpine not fit like i would want... is there some kind of speaker fit kit to take the oe square addition to an aftermarket speaker...

i believe the plastic is there to keep debris out of the speaker if u can remove it youre speakers will be fine without it.

the alpine speakers fit in the hole but they sit at a funny angle face the back windows and have quite a large gap and i'd have to drill new holes. i'm thinking of dynamating the hole over then fitting the speaker in that so there isnt any give. but i was hoping here was a speaker kit like there is for the reciever.

rear or front speakers... rear speakers you lay the seats forward take the back panel off then simply unscrew the speakers as far as finding the right speakers you got me there i'm still looking, the front speakers though are components i havent gotten around to them.

I ordered my rear speakers from crutchfield. They came with new plastic mounting plates. I t was a PIA to screw them down after I hooked up my sub they rattled like crazy so out came the epoxy. Those arent going anywhere now. By the way the back speakers are 6.5" the fronts are a 4" component I believe really hard to find, but you could always modify them to fit
