well i thought i would change my spark plugs, since my car has 97k miles and i cant remember the last time theyve been changed, it should help a bit. What are the absolute best plugs i can buy for a 99.5 2.8 a4

 

alright i did some searching, and I found that NGK Iridiums are good, but is there anything better that i can get?? I want the best in performance. I was also wondering if I needed spark plug wires as well, if so- what kind should I get?

Iridium plugs are not "better". They last longer than platinum. I just changed the platinum plugs on my chipped 1.8T after 40K miles (NGK) and they appeared brand new and gap was to spec showing no wear. So if you only change your plugs every 95K miles, the iridiums would work.

Why change your spark plug wires?

 

maintenance.

I do full tune-up every 40k miles or so. This car just doesn't get the T-belt done every 40k.
