iupgraded my clutch and got a lightened flywheel. im very happy with it. there is a lil chatter with it, but it's not that loud and it's not like u hear it in the car at all. definitely can feel the freed up horses. if you are doin the clutch, id say just get the flywheel and enjoy.

What is stock flywheel weight cause the revs on all the stock A4s i've driven drop off like its made of lead.

I think its like 22lbs or something like that. Its one of the first things i would replace when i get mine, its like watching a jet engine power down........takes forever.

no, i had one and it was good. it has less rotating mass.
in a sense of daily driving was it good? what brand did u had urs? and how much for everything plus labor?

WTF???? The revs drop off quicker on a LWFW than a stock flywheel, what are you talking about bob?

The lighter flywheel lets the engine rev up faster for more acceleration, but it also slows down faster.
At the same (high) rpm, the heavier stockFW has more rotational energy than the LWFW, because it has more weight.
Force = Mass x Acceleration
The force your engine puts out doesn't change from changing the mass of the flywheel. less mass = more acceleration, but on the same token, faster deceleration as well.

Faster decelleration isn't a bad thing IMHO, saves you major money on brakes, and puts less stress on your rotors.

i never noticed a difference in slowing down in gear with a lwfw. but when you rev it up the rpms will rise and fall quicker

lead= heavy dense metal which would have a lot more rotational mass, so what he meant was it takes forever for the revs to drop off with a stock flywheel
